Living Water believes in training men – Only 7% of people in churches today have been trained to share their faith with someone else – and only 3% have actually shared in the past year. As part of LWC's ministry, we want to train men to develop relationships with those who do not know Jesus, to prepare and give their testimony, to clearly present the gospel, and to ask for a response.

The new man in Jesus Christ needs to be established in his faith. Establishment is the process of building the disciple into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and other Christian men.

Almost the first half of Jesus' public ministry was spent developing relationships with men who would ultimately become the leaders of the church. His goal was for men to become rooted, established, and built up in the faith. He desired for these men to have a solid knowledge of Himself and to know what it was to obey Him, trust Him, and follow Him for the rest of their lives.

Establishment is the key to both our personal faith journeys and our efforts to develop fully functioning men’s ministries Ask yourself the following questions:

  • Am I growing in my relationship to Jesus or have I hit a plateau?
  • What part of our ministry is intentionally discipling new believers?

We believe that mutual encouragement and accountability within a small-group setting is the best way to foster ongoing spiritual formation.

Our Goals For LWC's Menistry are:

  • Development of Accountability. This is where we create the environment where men can truly go deep in accountable relationships with other Christian men, where indelible relationships are developed with other Christian men that will last a lifetime. A typical schedule is a two hour get together that includes Bible or book study, discussion for the first hour, followed by small group break outs to share and pray together and develop open accountability to address the temptations each of us struggles with.
  • Leadership Development - This is the context in which you develop relationships with the men that you hope will work alongside you in the development of your men's ministry. It models the small group discipling experience that you want the rest of the men in your church to have.
  • Longevity - We encourage groups to stay together indefinitely. This facilitates spiritual growth and growth in accountability. This is the environment in which men develop "spiritual muscle" enabling them to survive daily temptations and model Christ in their home, community, and workplace.
  • Growing in the faith and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.  We have found that rotating study activities between Bible study and book study offers the best spiritual development over time. By alternating between studying a book of the Bible and a book with a spiritual topic we get the benefit of learning from others while never wandering too far from the Scriptures.
